Hey everyone!
Are you ready for a fun little brain teaser today?
Take a look at the picture of these delicious-looking strawberries.

They are neatly lined up in rows and columns.
It seems like a very easy question to answer: “How many strawberries do you see?”
But is it really that simple?
Let’s count them together and solve this fun puzzle!
First, let’s look at the picture as a whole.
The strawberries are arranged in 5 rows.
Each of these rows has exactly 5 strawberries.
If we do some quick math, we can multiply 5 rows by 5 columns.
5 times 5 is 25.
So, at first glance, we have 25 strawberries in total on the screen.
This is the most natural answer!
But wait, let’s look a little bit closer.
Do you notice something different about some of the strawberries?
Yes, some of them are not whole.
Somebody has taken a bite out of them!
Let’s be detectives and find these “bitten” strawberries.
If we look at the very first row, the first strawberry on the left has a bite on the side.
In the second row, the second strawberry has a big bite right in the middle, and the fourth one has a bite on its right side.
In the third row, they all look perfect and whole.
In the fourth row, the first strawberry on the left has a small bite at the bottom.
And in the last row, the third strawberry has a big bite in the middle, and the very last one on the bottom right has a tiny bite at the bottom.
So, let’s count them: we have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 bitten strawberries.
Now, we have two ways to answer this question, depending on how we think!
Case 1: We do not count the bitten strawberries.
If you only want to count the “perfect”, whole strawberries, we have to subtract the broken ones.
We start with 25 total strawberries.
We subtract the 6 bitten strawberries.
25 minus 6 equals 19.
So, if we only count perfect, untouched strawberries, the answer is 19!
Case 2: We count every single strawberry, even the bitten ones.
Even though some strawberries have bites, they are still strawberries!
They are still sitting there on the pink background.
They didn’t disappear just because someone ate a piece of them.
So, if we count every strawberry we can see, the answer is 25!
Which answer do you think is correct?
Is it 19 whole strawberries, or 25 strawberries in total?
Both answers are correct in their own logical way!
It just depends on how you look at them.
