Coffee shop owner gets sick of rude customers – puts up genius sign to teach them some manners

It is a well-known fact that kindness doesn’t cost a thing yet some people find it very difficult to be kind and often forget that their actions can have a lasting impact on those they are unkind to.

Often it’s those working in the service industry that get the rough end of the deal and one cafe owner was fed up with rude customers in his shop. He decided to offer an incentive for kindness and reward polite customers.

He puts a sign outside his shop and word spreads fast… around the world in fact.

By placing this sign outside his coffee shop in Roanoke, Virginia, Austin Simms wanted to limit the rudeness shown by patrons.

He puts a sign outside his coffee shop that lists a new pricing policy with kindness in mind.

The sign reads: ”Small coffee $5”

”Small coffee, please. $3”

”Hello, one small coffee, please. $1.75”

Austin said: “I decided to start charging more for people who didn’t take the time to say hello and connect and realize we’re all people behind the counter.”

The sign was only up for a day and the story went viral, even making it into an English newspaper.

People were very supportive of Austin’s actions and commented on Facebook.
