Close friends Kathleen Saville and Olive Woodward, who met at school when they were 11 years old, have decided to spend their golden years together in the same nursing home.
After living just a short walk away from each other for their entire lives, Olive had been feeling down because she couldn’t see Kathleen as much as she wanted to while living in a different care home.
However, now that Olive has moved into Berry Hill Park in Nottinghamshire, the lifelong friends are overjoyed to be able to see each other all day, every day.
The staff affectionately call them the “Dynamic Duo” due to their constant laughter and mischief.
Kathleen and Olive are determined to maintain their friendship for as long as possible, and Kathleen even jokes that if Olive goes first, she’ll come back to fetch her in heaven.
A Little Kelly makes a phone call
The local high school has a policy that the parents must call the school if a student is to be absent for the day.
Kelly, deciding to skip school and go to the mall with her friends waited until her parents had left for work and called the school herself. This is the actual conversation of the telephone call.
Kelly: “Hi, I’m calling to report that Kelly so-and-so is unable to make it to school today because she is ill.
Secretary at high school: “Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. I’ll note her absence. Who is this calling?”
