Hello everyone, and welcome back to our fun little brain teaser corner!
Today, I have a fantastic puzzle for you that might look like a simple sports contest at first glance.
We all love a good race, especially when the competitors are as unexpected as the ones we have today.

Picture a sunny morning at the starting line of a very special marathon.
Lined up side by side, we have four very distinct and colorful contestants.
First up, we have a handsome, energetic chicken with bright and vibrant feathers.
Right beside the rooster, there is a tiny, quick-footed mouse twitching its whiskers with excitement.
Then, right in the center, we spot a cheerful little snail taking its sweet time to get ready.
And finally, on the far right, stands a sleek, muscular dog who looks totally ready to sprint.
The official announcer counts down from three, fires the whistle, and yells: “Ready, set, go!”
Now, here is the big question for all the bright minds out there: if they all race, who will get home first?
Take a quick pause, look closely at our four friends, and trust your gut for a second.
Most people would immediately put all their money on the dog.
It makes total sense because a dog can run like the wind on four strong legs.
Others might root for the tiny mouse, darting between the bushes with lightning speed.
Even the rooster has a pretty solid shot if it uses its wings for a helpful boost.
Meanwhile, almost everyone feels a little sorry for the poor, slow-moving snail.
After all, a snail moves at an absolute crawl and could take days just to cross the yard.
So, if we are measuring speed, distance, and muscle power, the dog should easily win, right?
Well, hold on just a moment, because this is where the clever logic of the riddle kicks in!
Look very carefully at the exact wording of the challenge.
The question does not ask who crosses a finish line first.
It does not ask who runs the fastest lap, nor does it ask who has the best stamina.
The exact question is: who will get home first?
To get home, you usually have to leave the starting track and travel all the way back to your house.
The dog has to sprint down the street and run into its doghouse or the living room.
The mouse has to scamper through the grass to squeeze into its little burrow.
The chicken has to flap and strut across the yard all the way back to the coop.
All three of them have to cover real physical distance before they can claim they are home.
Now, take another look at our quiet, humble friend, the snail.
Where exactly does a snail live every single day of its life?
A snail doesn’t rent an apartment down the road, and it certainly doesn’t have to commute back to a distant nest.
A snail carries its entire house directly on its back!
That hard spiral shell is not just heavy armor; it is its true home sweet home.
This means the snail was already tucked inside its house before the whistle even blew.
The snail was at home when the race began, it was at home during the race, and it never left home for a single second.
While the dog, mouse, and rooster are sprinting their hearts out down the road, the snail has already arrived.
Therefore, by pure, airtight logic, the snail gets home first without even taking a single step!
